For the Tomahawk Leader

GREEN BAY – A longtime advocate for snowmobiling in the Tomahawk area was recently honored for his dedication to the sport.

Gary Hilgendorf, a member of the Knight Owls Snowmobile Club, was awarded the President’s Cup during the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC)'s annual conference in Green Bay on Saturday, March 25.

For more than 40 years, the AWSC has awarded the President’s Cup to individuals who have “gone above and beyond all expectations of the AWSC.”

Hilgendorf has been recognized numerous times for his commitment to snowmobiling in the Tomahawk area. In 2010, Hilgendorf was named the Groomer of the Year by the AWSC, and the following year, he was named World Snowmobile Headquarters’ International Groomer of the Year.

In a Facebook post, the Knight Owls congratulated Hilgendorf and said the award was “very well deserved.”
