Free program to provide information on Alzheimer’s research

RHINELANDER – A free program provide information on new developments in Alzheimer’s diagnosis and treatment.

The Advancing the Science: The Latest in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Research program will be held at the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Oneida County, 100 Keenan St., Rhinelander, on Tuesday, May 20 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“Alzheimer’s is a global health issue with nearly seven million people living with the disease in the United States alone,” the Alzheimer Association said. “This escalating health crisis affects many in our community. At the same time, tremendous gains have been made in the understanding of the science and basic biology underlying Alzheimer’s and other dementias. These advances are leading to great strides in strategies for prevention, detection, diagnostics and therapeutic interventions.

Program attendees will learn about risk factors for Alzheimer’s and all other dementia, highlights in early detection and diagnosis and the latest advancements in clinical trials, treatments and lifestyle interventions.
