For the Tomahawk Leader
TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce recently launched a new campaign to help draw patrons into local businesses.
A release from the Chamber said the Shop Small Season card encouraged people to spend at least $10.00 at 16 different retail stores throughout the Tomahawk area. The cards were to be filled out, whether a row, column or blackout, and returned for chances at prizes.
The participating stores ranged from gas stations to the local pharmacy.
The winners of the various prizes up for grabs were drawn at the January Quitting Time at Nacho’s Mexican Grill Tomahawk.
The Chamber said it will be launching two new versions of the card on Thursday, Feb. 1. The new versions will run through Wednesday, April 10.
“These versions will help the local restaurant businesses,” the Chamber explained.
The first card will be the “Cheese Card,” which will have the cheese item, or items, to choose from listed on the card in order to get a stamp. Filling out half of the locations will garner a small prize; with the entire card completed, participants will get a larger prize.
For the second card, the Chamber and Wander In Wisconsin have teamed up to launch a contest to see which local restaurant can create the best Bloody Mary.
“The ‘Bloody Mary Trail’ will have patrons complete the card by tasting all of the bloodys for the locations on the card,” the Chamber stated.
Those that complete all of the tastings will vote for their favorite bloody, and the winner will be announced at the Wednesday, April 17 Quitting Time at LaCanne’s Resort on Swamp Lake.
The Chamber noted that locations on both cards will overlap a few times so that there is a non-alcoholic option that coincides with the alcoholic option.
