Fern L. Juedes, age 79, of Irma, Wis., passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Fern was born on July 19, 1944, in Tomahawk, to the late Eugene and Lena (Wittwer) Schneider. She was married to Gary Juedes on Dec. 11, 1965; he passed away on April 13, 2022.
Fern attended school at the Cloverbelt School in the Town of Skanawan and was a 1962 graduate of the Tomahawk High School. She worked for Employers Insurance in Wausau and later worked for Weinbrenner Shoe Company and Anson-Gilkey, both in Merrill. Fern then became a farm wife, working by Gary’s side with dairy farming and hobby farming raising pigs and beef cattle. She enjoyed the outdoors camping, traveling, and snowmobiling, and loved crocheting, working in her flower beds, and spent countless hours gardening. Fern was an avid NASCAR fan. She and Gary loved the hard work that went along with farming and took great pride in their land and equipment. She was a kind, caring person who cherished her family.
Survivors include her son, Eugene Juedes; her daughter, Linda Juedes (August LaCrosse); her brother, James (Lucille) Schneider; her sisters, Bonnie, Cora, and Patty; her brother-in-law, Roger (Judy) Juedes; and her sisters-in-law, Judy Stine, Sandy (Ward) Carstensen, Darlene (Bill) Evans, Bonnie Juedes, Cora Juedes, and Patty Juedes. Fern is further survived by many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Lena; her husband, Gary; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Helen Juedes.
