Delia “Dee” R. Crass, age 77, of Irma, Wis., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital. Dee was born on Sept. 14, 1948, in Beloit, Wis., to the late Frank and Florence (Wheelock) Larsen. She was married to Glenn Crass on April 25, 1998; he survives.
Dee grew up in Beloit, Wis., and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1966. In 1988, Dee pursued her calling to care for others by attending the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Madison Area Technical College. She went on to work for a time at Golden Age Nursing Home where her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many residents.
Dee was a woman of many passions. She had a lifelong fondness for Mickey Mouse, a joy that reflected her playful and warm-hearted nature. She also enjoyed deer hunting, embracing the outdoors with enthusiasm. Known for her fighting spirit, Dee faced life’s challenges with courage and perseverance. Above all else, Dee cherished her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she held a particularly special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Her love, guidance, and strength will continue to live on through them. Dee was a faithful member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Rhinelander, Wis.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Crass Sr.; her son, James (Kristin) Sandvig; her daughters, Shannon (Paul) Roehl-Wickingson and Anita (Don) Galfano; her stepsons, John Crass and Glenn Crass Jr.; and her sister, Donna Rule. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Candice, Cassandra, Cody, Sierra, Emily, Alayna, Maria, Lilly, and Madison; in addition to seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank; her mother, Florence Fries; her stepfather, Raymond Fries; and her sister, Kathie Larsen.
Funeral services for Delia Crass were held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Generations Funeral Home. Rev. Meredyth (Mother Meredyth) Albright officiated. The family received friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in the Town of Skanawan in the spring.
