Dean S. Peck, age 73, of Tomahawk, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at his home. Dean was born in Merrill, Wis., on April 28, 1951, to the late Legion and Marilyn (Zietelhack) Peck. He was married to Jeanine Callahan on Dec. 7, 1974; she survives.
Family was the most important part of Dean’s life. His greatest title was “Grandpa.” Married to the love of his life for 50 years, Dean and Jeanine made amazing family memories over the years. He proudly served in the United States Army, serving from 1970 to 1973, where he was overseas for 18 months in Seoul, Korea, during his tour of duty. Dean worked at PCA of Tomahawk for over 40 years. He loved the outdoors, a mighty squirrel hunter he was. He also enjoyed polka Sundays. Dean was a former member of the Northwoods Cruisers Car Club and was pit crew for his brothers-in-law who raced at Tomahawk Speedway. He was passionate about motorcycling, wrenching, ATV/UTVing, old cars, and watching Westerns.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanine Peck, of Tomahawk; his son, Thomas Cartwright, of Wausau, Wis.; his daughters, Shylah Peck, of Neenah, WIis., Sarah (Derik) Overhaug, of Tomahawk, and Selina (Bob) Iczkowski, of Mosinee, Wis.; his brother, Casey Swetlik; his brothers-in-law, Jim (Mary Jo) Callahan, and Wally (Jane) Callahan; his sisters-in-law, Joy (Donald) Arneson, Elaine Steinhafel, Carleen (Jerome) Johnson, Jacky Smith, Jill (Pat) Massa, and Sue Callahan; and his aunts and uncle, Karla Perkins and James and Carla Scott. Dean is further survived by his grandchildren, Mason Peck, Jesse Iczkowski, Melody Overhaug, Stanley Iczkowsk, Aria Mogan, and Frank Iczkowski; in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Legion and Marilyn; his grandparents, Donald and Ione Scott; his sister, Peggy Lee Peck; his brother, Micky Swetlik; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Caryl Callahan; his favorite aunt, Jean (Lovely Leah); and his brothers-in-law, David Callahan, Bill Steinhafel, and Marvin Callahan.
Memorial services for Dean Peck were held on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at Generations Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. Rev. Larry Mathein officiated. The family received friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
