Daniel 'Dan' Doucette

Following a brief illness, Daniel “Dan” Doucette, 71, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed on December 19, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Tomahawk, WI to Nieland “Nocky” and Betty Doucette on November 21, 1953. He attended Tomahawk High School, where he was an accomplished wrestler. Dan received a master’s degree in guidance counselling from the University of Wisconsin – Superior. He worked for many years as a guidance counselor in the Northland Pines School District (Eagle River, WI), assisting many students. He spent his summers developing a talent for house painting.

Dan was an accomplished hunter and fisherman, growing up near the Tomahawk River. He often entertained his family and friends with stories about fishing. Living most of his life in Wisconsin, Dan was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Spending an evening fishing while listening to a Brewers game was something he greatly enjoyed.

Dan is survived by his wife Barbara, three daughters, Jess Doucette, Janessa Doucette (Joe Frederickson), Jordan Hall (Nickolaus) and son Ryan Doucette. He also is survived by four sisters, Carol Jensen (Charles), Jeanne Grodevant (Bill), Sue Doucette and Jude Stevenson (Mike) and four brothers, Tom, Bob (Beth), John and Bill (Jane). Dan also had a granddaughter, Iris, who was born this year and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be done on a future date.
