TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted to cancel the Taste of Tomahawk event scheduled to take place at Inshalla Country Club in Tomahawk in October, a statement provided by Chamber Executive Director Jesica Witte stated.

The event, originally slated for March 21, was pushed back to May 16 after Governor Tony Evers declared a public health emergency due to the spread of COVID-19. The event was again postponed to Oct. 24 before being cancelled this week.

“The idea to hold a fall tasting event is simply not feasible at this point,” Witte stated. “We couldn't do what we do every year without all of you and look forward to a time when we can gather again and hold the same level of event that we are all accustomed to. Until that time we are doing our best to adjust.”

Taste of Tomahawk, the Chamber’s largest event, features food, beer and wine vendors from around the state, live music, raffles, and other fundraising opportunities. 2020 would’ve been the 17th year the annual event was held.

The Chamber said it plans on bringing the event back in March 2021.

Taste of Tomahawk ticketholders have two options, the Chamber said.

“You may hold on to your ticket which will be honored for the event in March or you may refund your ticket by mailing us the original or returning the original to our office,” the Chamber stated. “Please attempt to return those tickets ASAP so we can handle accounting for next year’s event. Refunds will be issued in the form of a check.”
