Carol Jean R. Marquardt, age 88, of Tomahawk, passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. Carol was born in Merrill, on Aug. 4, 1931, to the late Ewald and Eleanore (Lemke) Katke, Sr. She was married to Myron Marquardt on Sept. 9, 1950; he passed away on Nov. 17, 2011.
Carol grew up in Merrill in the Town of Pine River, where she attended school. She was a talented seamstress, working at Jeannie’s Hats and Dresses in her younger years and then worked for many years at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, retiring in 1985. After retirement, Carol worked seasonally at Peterson Latzig Company in Merrill. Myron and Carol wintered in Bradenton, Fla., spending time by their daughter, and spent their summers in Tomahawk to be near their son and daughter-in-law. She was an active member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ in Merrill, where she attended with her family. Carol followed the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. She enjoyed outdoor walks and socializing with her neighbors. Above all, she cherished time with her family.
Survivors include her Son, Michael (Diana) Marquardt, of Tomahawk; one Daughter, Stacey Becker, of Tomahawk; and one Brother, Ewald (Marilyn) Katke Jr., of Merrill. She is further survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her Parents, Ewald and Eleanore, and her Husband, Myron.
Memorial Services for Carol Marquardt were held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephens United Church of Christ in Merrill. Visitation took place from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Services at 11 a.m. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory, Tomahawk, is assisting the family.
