Bernardi awarded citation for assisting choking individual

TOMAHAWK – Last week, a School District of Tomahawk employee was commended for her efforts in assisting a person in need.

State Senator Mary Felzkowski (R-Tomahawk) and State Representative Calvin Callahan (R-Tomahawk) stopped by Tomahawk Middle School on Wednesday, May 15 to issue a citation to Nancy Bernardi, who responded to an individual who was choking in the lunchroom.

District Administrator Wendell Quesinberry said Bernardi’s quick action in applying the Heimlich technique was able to dislodge the item, potentially saving the individual's life.
