Archie C. Thielman, age 73, of Tomahawk, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in Rhinelander, Wis. Archie was born in Tomahawk on July 29, 1952, to the late Archie and Elsie (Moritz) Thielman.
Archie graduated from Tomahawk High School and later received his technical diploma from Nicolet College. A legend to the Harrison area, Archie, also known as “Kesslers,” began employment at his mom’s tavern, Thielman’s Bar, and coincidentally, ended his career as a bartender at Nut-Zee’s Bar & Resort, which was formerly Thielman’s Bar. He was the personality behind the bar always smiling and socializing with patrons where his warm presence and quick smile made him a friend to many. Known for his engaging personality, he left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Over the years, he worked at Wausau Homes, Twist Drill, and the Parrish Cafe in Gleason for many years. Archie enjoyed pontoon rides, putzing around the yard, and loved the wildlife; the deer were his best customers who frequented the inside of the bar!
Survivors include his sister, who was lovingly referred to as “The Warden,” Mary Ann (Al) Coyer; and his brother, Michael (Ann) Thielman. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Elsie; and his brothers, Theodore, David, Gary, and Thomas.
In accordance with wishes, no formal services will be held. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family. You may view Archie’s obituary and leave online condolences at www.generationsfuneral.com.
