For the Tomahawk Leader
RHINELANDER – The Alzheimer’s Association is offering a workshop focused on healthy aging.
The Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body: Tips from the Latest Research program will be held at the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Oneida County, 100 Keenan St., Rhinelander, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“With the new year come new resolutions to live a healthier lifestyle,” the Alzheimer’s Association stated. “These resolutions may also impact our brain health in addition to our physical health. At any age, there are lifestyle habits we can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve our health. These habits may also help to keep our brains healthy as we age and possibly delay the onset of cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease.”
The workshop will cover four areas of lifestyle habits that are associated with healthy aging: Cognitive activity; physical health and exercise; diet and nutrition; and social engagement.
“In each area, we will discuss what we know, drawing on current research, as well as what we can do — steps to take now to improve or maintain overall health in each area,” the Alzheimer’s Association said. “This program is designed for individuals of any age who are looking for information on ways to age as well as possible.”
