After winning State title, Hatchet hockey team receives commendation from Lincoln County board

Posted

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Tomahawk High School hockey team has been officially recognized by the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors for its recent State championship.

The Hatchet skaters won the program’s first State title earlier this month, after which, the team received a municipal commendation.

The county-level commendation was approved during the board’s meeting at the Lincoln County Service Center in Merrill on Tuesday, March 18.

The commendation came in the form of a resolution, which was read aloud during the meeting.

“It is fitting that the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors should recognize the young people of the county who excel in activities that bring great pride to the Lincoln County community,” the resolution said. “The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors takes honor in congratulating and commending the Tomahawk High School Hockey team for winning the 2025 WIAA Division 2 State Hockey Championship title.”
