TOMAHAWK – The Salvation Army of Tomahawk kicked off its annual Red Kettle Campaign on Friday, Nov. 18.

Volunteers gathered in front of Tomahawk Family Restaurant with owner Benny Shabani, Honorary Chair for this year’s campaign, to mark the beginning of the fundraising effort.

A release from the Salvation Army of Tomahawk said this year’s fundraising goal is $55,000.00, which will fund emergency assistance for community members in need, along with supplementing the budget of the Happy Kids Backpack Program.

The Salvation Army of Tomahawk is continuing to seek volunteer bell ringers. To schedule a time to ring at either Trig’s or Tomahawk Foods, call Master Scheduler Win Semmler at 630-667-3250. The ringing schedule is Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
