Halfmoon Lake Road

This is an open letter to the residents of the Town of Bradley:

Do you know where your hard-earned tax dollars and government allocated funds are going? In order to widen a half mile, dead end road with only 14 property owners, the Town of Bradley will be cutting down over 100 very large trees, many over 110 years old. They consist of white pine, red pine, saw toothed poplar, red oak, and birch.

The name of the road is Halfmoon Lake Road. Your tax dollars and government funding will be spent to straighten and widen the road from 24 feet to 60 feet. And guess what?! The majority of property owners do not want this to happen! At least ten of the 14 property owners have stated they do not want to see this change.

Is this a wise use of your money? Is this logical? Would your money be better spent repairing sections of U, with its crumbling road edge and degrading shoulder? Should the rough, wash-board section of Hwy. 8, between Tannery Road and Essex Road be repaired instead?

So, if you don’t want to see your tax dollars wasted, call the town of Bradley Supervisor, and tell him to stop this action. You can decide! You can have input! You can do what is logical and prevent the Town of Bradley from doing something that is irrational!

Sincerely,

Mary Blazel

Resident of Town of Bradley
