Becky L. Cottrell-Buitron, age 51, of Tomahawk, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wis. She was born on May 15, 1970, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Patrick “Rick” and Mary (Heintz) Cottrell. Becky was married to Gustavo Buitron on Aug. 25, 1990, at Northland Bible Church; he survives.
Becky was a 1988 graduate of the Tomahawk High School. She lived the majority of her life in Tomahawk, where she and Gus raised their five boys. Becky loved kids and she spent many years providing day care in their home. She loved all the holidays, especially Christmas, and always loved to decorate their home and host gatherings. Becky’s kitchen was always open and she welcomed everyone. She also enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and going to the casino with her friends. Above all, she loved spending time with family and spoiling her grandkids.
Becky will best be remembered for her beautiful smile and big heart. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She will be missed very much by her family and friends, but we can be comforted knowing she is with Jesus and there is no more suffering and pain for her. Becky loved the Lord.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Gustavo Buitron, of Tomahawk; her parents, Patrick “Rick” and Mary Cottrell, of Lake Alfred, Fla.; her children, Zachary Buitron, of Appleton, Wis., Bradley (Sierra) Buitron, Nicholas Buitron, Austin Buitron, and Nathan Buitron, all of Tomahawk; her siblings, Kimberly (Chris) Uttech, of Zeeland, Mich., Michael (Amy) Cottrell, of Rhinelander, Wis., Amy (Russ) Miller, of Dorr, Mich., and Flavio (Beth) Cottrell, of Merrill, Wis. Becky is further survived by her grandchildren, Brady, Decklan, Drake, Bentley, and Deacon.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Kristy Cottrell; and her grandparents, Leo Cottrell, and Douglas and Dorothy Heintz.
A celebration of life service for Becky Buitron was held on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the Northland Bible Church.
