NORTHERN WISCONSIN – The League of Women Voters of the Northwoods (LWVNOW)’s meeting next month will take a closer look at redistricting in Wisconsin.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, in-person at the William Buedingen Training Center, W6147 State Hwy. 86, Tomahawk.
“There will be plenty of room for social distancing, but if you haven’t been vaccinated, please wear a mask,” LWVNOW said.
Lincoln County District 11 Supervisor Hans Breitenmoser and Executive Director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign (WDC) Matt Rothschild will discuss the Wisconsin State Legislature’s upcoming redrawing of the state’s district maps, which occurs every ten years.
“In a 2017 LWVNOW presentation, Supervisor Breitenmoser explained the process he pursued that led to the Lincoln County Board’s passage of a resolution insisting on a nonpartisan procedure for drawing legislative and congressional district boundaries,” LWVNOW stated. “This time, he and Matt Rothschild will bring us up to speed all that has happened since.”
