Judith A. Schoone, age 80, of Harrison, passed away on July 3, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Judy was born on May 26, 1941 in Tomahawk to Wayne and Regina (Likwarz) Egelkrout. She was married to Jerome “Jerry” Schoone on Sept. 15, 1962 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. For 20 years, Judy cared for children at Self Adventure Preschool. Judy was a dedicated helper on the farm and a skilled seamstress. She was on the Harrison Township Election Board for many years. Judy was a very faithful and active member of St. Augustine Church. She was a Eucharistic minister and had taught religion at St. Augustine.
Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years – Jerry Schoone of Harrison; and her children – Monica (Andy) Chase of Prior Lake, Minn., Jeanne (Joe) Martens of Mosinee, Mary Jo (Greg) Johnson of Appleton, Andy (Nicole) Schoone of Tomahawk and Judi (Marty) Coppock of Mosinee. Judy is further survived by her siblings – Susie Callahan, John (Kathy) Egelkrout and JoAnn Egelkrout; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, sister – Lois Leggett and brother – Daryl Egelkrout.
The Mass of Christian Burial took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Harrison. Fr. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. Visitation took place on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk, from 4 p.m. until the time of rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. Burial took place in St. Augustine Cemetery.
All memorials will be donated in Judy’s name.
