Clarence George Reider Jr.

Clarence George Reider Jr., aka Chaunce, from Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on March 22, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Chaunce was born in Appleton, Wis., on May, 20, 1932. He married the love of his life, Marly, and they were married a glorious 57 years. Chaunce and Marly travelled the world together, enjoyed playing bridge with lifelong friends and tailgating at college football games. Chaunce enjoyed a good book, a Packers game, toasting with friends and family and telling a good story. Most people would describe our Dad as a world traveler, train enthusiast, a landscape photographer and a devout Catholic. On Sundays you could find him at St. Rose Church, where he ushered for decades. Chaunce served as a Civil Engineer in the United States Army. He graduated from the Universities of Purdue and Wisconsin. He worked for OI for over 25 years.

Chaunce is preceded in death by his wife, Marly; his parents, Clarence Sr., and Lillian; his sons, Kenneth and Richard. He is survived by his children, Katherine (Reider) Spatz, Stephen Reider, Susan Reider and Sandra (Reider) Hallett. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Danielle, Meghan, Kaitlyn, T.C., Sean and Ryan.

The Memorial Mass for Chaunce will be held on Tuesday, July, 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 320 East Washington Avenue, Tomahawk, Wis., 54487. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. Immediately following the mass, there will be a procession to Calvary Cemetery, Tomahawk.
