Helen D. Baacke

Helen D. Baacke, 82, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at Riverview Health Services.

Helen was born Dec. 3, 1938 in Danville, Ill., to Errett and Beulah (Hoag) Martin. She was married to Richard B. Baacke, Sr. on Feb. 15, 1958 in Hernando, Miss.; he passed away in 2003. They moved to the Tomahawk area in 1981. Helen worked as a CNA at Riverview for many years and recently, as a resident there, was known to be a CNA from her wheelchair. She was always concerned about the other residents. Helen was a kind, loving, caring person. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She enjoyed attending sporting events her family participated in. Her family and grandkids were the love of her life. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing Bingo, Pass the Pigs and Uno.

Surviving Helen Baacke are her children – Rick (Dawn) Baacke of Marinette, Wis., Debbie (Chris) Austin of Wellington, Fla., Sandy (Greg) Madouros of Crown Point, Ind., Donna (Will) Steuer of Cedar Lake, Ind., Lori (Tony) Bunce of Tomahawk and Gary (Corie) Baacke of Tomahawk. She is further survived by 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, with two more coming. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a grandson – Christopher.

The Funeral Service for Helen Baacke will take place on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk. Pastor Stephen Gillet will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m.
