School District of Tomahawk adjusts drive-thru food service schedule

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – The School District of Tomahawk on Thursday, Oct. 15 announced changes to its drive thru meal service schedule.

“We have recently learned that the USDA has given school districts the ability to provide FREE meals to all of their students through the rest of the 2020-21 school year,” Food Service Director Dustin Tessmer said. “Enrolled students of virtual learning, MS/HS students on remote learning days including Fridays and other community children ages 18 years and younger can utilize our drive thru service.”

Effective Monday, Oct. 19, pick-up days and times are Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with three breakfasts and lunches served each day.

Tessmer said the district changed the drive-thru service schedule to twice a week instead of five days a week “to make this more convenient for our families.”

“We will be adding a Saturday meal to help families through this difficult time,” Tessmer noted.
