Area snowmobile trails close as warmer temps melt snow

The 2020 snowmobile season has come to an end in the Tomahawk area as Lincoln County closed its final remaining portion of trail Monday and Oneida County announced it was closing their trails at 8 a.m. today (Tuesday).

In thanking all volunteers and clubs for their many efforts to keep the trails in such great shape over the course of the winter, the Oneida County Forestry Department said the recent warm up was the reason for closing the trails.

Lincoln County closed trails in Zones 2,3 and 4 on Saturday, March 7 while Zone 1 remained open over the weekend before being shut down yesterday (Monday).
