Gladys B. Gauger

Gladys B. Gauger, age 92, of Tomahawk, passed away on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019 at Milestone Assisted Living under the care of Ministry Home Hospice.

Gladys was born on Aug. 12, 1927 in Maywood, IL to Robert & Gertrude (Mesenbrink) Studtmann. She was married to William Gauger on Sept. 28, 1978 in DesPlaines, IL. Bill preceded her in death in 1992. Gladys was the assistant purchasing agent for Inland Press and also the controller at Schmidt – Garden – Erickson, all in Chicago. Tomahawk was a place that Gladys and her family had been vacationing since she was 6. In 1983, Gladys and Bill moved to Tomahawk permanently after their retirements.

Gladys is survived by her son – Bob Woods of Elkhorn, WI; her step children – Barbara (Robert) Pagel of Florida, Mary (Jim) Slattery of Illinois, George (Toni) Gauger of California, Carol Gauger of Texas, James (Jane) Gauger of Illinois, Thomas (Kim) Gauger of Georgia and Katie (Dave) Hinners of Illinois. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her brother – Ronald (Carol) Studtmann of Illinois.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, husband – Bill and two step sons – William Gauger & Robert Gauger.

The Funeral Service for Gladys Gauger took place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 at Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, Tomahawk. Pastor Mark Gass officiated. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Burial took place at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019 at Chapel Hill Garden West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
