eSports: Hatchets take two of three in triple-header

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet eSports team returned to action after Easter break with a triple-header last week.

On Wednesday, April 12, the Hatchets took on the RedCats. Coach Paula Norman said that although it was a back-and-forth match, the Hatchets ultimately fell by a score of 13-9.

The Hatchets continued Week 3 action on Thursday, April 13, facing Slinger in another intense back-and-forth match that saw Tomahawk come away with a 13-11 win. Samuel Kurth had an ace in the game, meaning he had all five of the kills in one of the matches.

A make-up game was held on Friday, April 14. The Hatchets cruised to an easy 13-5 victory over Kimberly.

Norman noted that the Tomahawk squad is a young team that is rotating among six players.

“They are taking this seriously and working to improve every practice and game,” Norman stated. “I have seen communication increase. Coaching and praise between players is at the forefront. It is so fun to watch them play. I can’t wait to see how the next five weeks go.”
