For the Tomahawk Leader
LINCOLN COUNTY – This fall, the Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD) will hold vaccine clinics for Lincoln County students in 4K through 12th grade.
The clinics will provide the flu and Tdap vaccines at no charge.
A release from LCHD said an annual flu shot is one of the best ways to prevent the flu and is recommended for everyone 6 months and older.
The Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough (pertussis).
Clinics will be held at Merrill High School on Tuesday, Oct. 15; Prairie River Middle School on Tuesday, Oct. 22; and the School District of Tomahawk on Thursday, Oct. 31.
A clinic will be held at LCHD, 607 N. Sales St., Merrill, on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lincoln County students enrolled in 4K, elementary and private schools are encouraged to attend. All Lincoln County students are welcome.
LCHD noted that the schedule is dependent on flu vaccine availability, and any changes in the schedule will be communicated to parents and guardians.
LCHD has flu shots and flu nasal mist available for students. Pre-registration is required for all clinics and must be completed a week prior to the clinic. Walk-ins will not be accepted. To pre-register, visit www.bit.ly/LincolnStudentVaccineClinics.
“By completing the pre-registration form, parent(s)/guardian(s) are giving consent to LCHD to vaccinate their child with the flu and/or Tdap vaccine while at school,” LCHD stated. “Parent(s)/guardian(s) do not need to be present. Please have your child dress appropriately so their upper arm is easily accessible the day of clinic.”
