Dorothy “Dotti” Ann Andersen, 77, of Tomahawk, passed away late Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dotti was born June 5, 1947 in Shawano, the daughter of Wilbur and Nelda (Montour) Oppermann. She was united in marriage to Paul Andersen on July 31, 1971 in Shawano.
Dotti had a remarkable career as a Home Economics teacher in the Racine School District and later as an Elementary School Special Education teacher in Tomahawk. She was happiest spending time with family and dear friends, baking, gardening, reading, making jewelry, traveling, and making care packages for her grandchildren. She loved being a part of and watching whatever the grandkids were doing. She cherished family traditions such as decorating Christmas cookies with the grandkids, making holiday wreaths, sharing family meals together, and wearing matching Christmas pajamas. Her kind heart and selflessness extended to her community as she volunteered at the food pantry and the school backpack program, was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and volunteered time to the church altar guild.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Paul; daughter, Heather (Jamie) Mork, Greenville; son, Matthew (Alicia) Andersen, Cameron; sister, Donna (Leon) Stuewer, Bonduel; grandchildren, Allison and Jacob Mork, Matali and Ariahna Andersen.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, Tomahawk, with Pastor Julie Sinkula officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to the time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
