TOWN OF MERRILL – A Marshfield man was killed in a motorcycle vs. bear crash in the Town of Merrill last week.
According to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, Sept. 13, at approximately 11:53 p.m., the Lincoln County 911 Dispatch Center received a call reporting a single-motorcycle crash with one occupant on U.S. Hwy 51 near mile marker 211. It was reported that the operator was unresponsive.
The operator, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Paul Bohman, 50, was later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation suggested Bowman was traveling southbound on U.S. Hwy. 51 when he struck a bear.
Agencies assisting the Sheriff’s Office included Merrill Police Department, the Merrill Fire Department and the Lincoln County Coroner’ s Office.
