Illinois man killed in Town of King motorcycle crash

TOWN OF KING – An Illinois man was killed in a motorcycle crash in the Town of King last week.

According to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, Sept. 13, at approximately 1:23 a.m., a 911 call was received reporting a single-motorcycle crash with one occupant on Spring Creek Dr. west of Terry Rd.

It was reported that the operator of the motorcycle was unresponsive.

The release said preliminary investigation suggested that that the motorcycle was eastbound on Spring Creek Dr. when it entered the shoulder of the road while negotiating a curve and rolled.

The operator, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Martin L. Hrpcha, 71, of Kankakee, Ill., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Tomahawk Fire Department, Tomahawk EMS and the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation.
