Charles “Bill” William Stiff, 88, of Weston, Wis., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Bill was born May 30, 1936, in Tomahawk, the son of William and Katherine (Tierney) Stiff. He was united in marriage on June 25, 1960, to Barbara Bowen in Stevens Point. Bill served in the U.S. Marines from 1954-1957. Bill was a Teacher for the Tomahawk School District, retiring June of 1996. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Lions, and Teachers Union.
Bill enjoyed telling a good joke and sharing many a story about his life. He loved to sing, write stories and poems. He was a great hockey coach and enjoyed golfing. He enjoyed traveling and meeting new friends during his retirement years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara; daughters, Jessica (Jay) Knoke, Park Falls; Jennifer Stiff (Shelly Chevalier), Chelmsford, Mass.; son, Timothy Stiff, Maryville, Mo. He is further survived by five grandchildren, Adam Knoke (Meghan), Ashley Knoke, Mason Stiff, Olivia McAtee (Aidan), Ava Stiff and two great-grandchildren, Theo Knoke and Maddie Knoke. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel C.R. Cripps officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to time of service at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
