Peggy Ann Kromm

Peggy Ann Kromm, 74, of Tomahawk, passed away on Thursday Aug. 8, 2024 at home with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 27, 1949 to Thomas and Marvel (Johnson) Hein.
Following graduation from Rice Lake High School in 1967, she attended UW=Madison and earned a BS degree in Physical Education. On June 17, 1972, she married John Kromm in her home town of Rice Lake. In April of 1977 Peg and John moved to Tomahawk to own and operate the newly remodeled and expanded Tomahawk Ben Franklin. While there she was the moving force behind the establishment of the Country Cellar, a consignment gift shop located in the basement of the Tomahawk Ben Franklin. Sensing the need to continue her education she later enrolled in the nursing program at Nicolet Area Community College. She graduated in December of 1995 and received her RN certification a short time later. She then worked as an RN at Taylor Park Nursing Home and Rehab Center for 20 years. She spent the last 2 years of her working career serving as a part time Lunch Lady in the Tomahawk School System.
She is survived by John, her husband of 52 years, two sons, J. T. Kromm (Rachel Johnson) Pensacola, Fla.; Christopher “Pher” (Kristy) Kromm, and granddaughter, Kinslee of Tomahawk; sister, Clara (Bruce) Kuhne and nephews Thomas and Jordan of Adelaide, Australia; sister Rose (Dave) Hobson of Dayton, Minn.; niece Jessica (Hobson) Sorenson of Des Moines, Iowa; and nephew Jason (Briehan) Leslie of Knoxville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Merikay Leslie, and brother-in-law, Don.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024 at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. with Pastor Julie Sinkula officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, Aug. 16 at Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake, Wis., at 11 a.m.
