THS grad Murphy Koth receives Ahlstrom scholarship

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – Recent Tomahawk High School (THS) graduate Murphy Koth was awarded a scholarship from Ahlstrom, in partnership with the Rhinelander plant’s union, United Steelworkers Union Local 2-15.

Koth and a pair of Rhinelander High School graduates, Alexis Nelson and Alexia Robinson, each received a $1,000.00 scholarship.

“Ahlstrom and USW Union Local 2-15 are thrilled to announce our scholarship recipients this year,” said Dan McGreaham, Ahlstrom’s Rhinelander plant manager. “In addition to their high school course work, each of our recipients participated in extra-curriculars, as well as activities related to their intended field of study. We celebrate the achievements of these graduates and wish them continued success on their future endeavors as they pursue their respective fields of study.”

This is the second year Ahlstrom and USW Union Local 2-15 have partnered to award scholarships to students.

Koth will be attending Lawrence University in Appleton to pursue interests in the arts with an emphasis in film studios.
