David A. Belling, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Dave was born in Merrill, Wis., on Feb. 9, 1942, to the late Norman and LaVera (Plautz) Belling.
Dave attended Merrill High School. He was a man of many talents…there was nothing he couldn’t accomplish or fix. Dave retired from Tomahawk PCA after 30 years of dedicated service. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and four-wheeling. Dave spent many hours playing cribbage, enjoyed traveling, and held a special place in his heart for Yellow Labs. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed and remembered for his quick-wit sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Sonja Belling; his sons, Dewey (Nancy) Belling Sr. and Dan Belling; his stepsons, Bill (Jessica) Verhasselt and Bob (Mindy) Verhasselt; his daughter, Dawn (Tim) Ruprecht; and his stepdaughter, Shannon “LuLu” (Jason) Duginski. Dave is further survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and LaVera; his son, Darren Belling; and his sister, Maxine Bauer.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
