RHINELANDER – The Oneida County Land and Water Conservation Department is inviting the public to attend the 13th annual Oneida County Stewardship Awards Banquet and is also seeking nominees to be recognized for their conservation efforts during the banquet.

The banquet will be held at Holiday Acres, 4060 Shore Dr., Rhinelander, on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 5 p.m.

“Join us as we celebrate and honor invasive species superstars, lake groups, landowners, watercraft inspectors, lake monitors and citizen scientists for their extraordinary stewardship efforts to protect Oneida County’s lands, waters and watersheds,” a release from the department said.

The banquet’s guest speaker will be Bart Kotarba, Wildlife Educator at the Northwoods Wildlife Center.

The department said Kotarba will “give a fun and educational talk on ‘Birds of Prey’ and will have one of the Center’s ambassador red-tailed hawks on hand to meet – up close and personal.”
