TOMAHAWK – This week, the Tomahawk Public Library (TPL) announced its slate of summer events and programs.
Outdoor Events
Outdoor Events, held each Thursday on the library lawn at 10:30 a.m., will kick off on June 13 with activities funded by the Friends of the TPL.
A “Snake Discovery” program, sponsored by the TPL Natural Resources Foundation Education Fund, will be held on June 20.
With funding from the Wisconsin Valley Library Service, Tom Pease will visit TPL on June 27.
On July 11, Jeff McMullen will present his comedy-magic show. The program is supported by the Friends of the TPL.
North Lakeland Discovery Center will provide a program on July 18, with funding from the TPL Natural Resources Foundation Education Fund.
The Outdoor Events programs will wrap up on July 25 with a tie-dye celebration sponsored by the Tomahawk Community Thrift Store.
Storytime Adventures, Stories by the River
Storytime Adventures will be held on the library lawn on Tuesdays from June 11 through July 30 at 10:30 a.m. each day.
Stories by the River will be held on Tuesdays from Aug. 6 through Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. each day.
Adventures in STEAM
Children in grades 1 and up are invited to take part in Adventures in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) on Thursdays in August at 10:30 a.m. each day.
The programs will begin on Aug. 1 with Lego Creations, followed by Nature Productions on Aug. 8, Recycle Race on Aug. 15, Tower Dare on Aug. 22 and Nature Explore on Aug. 29.
Reading club, challenges
TPL said that as part of Woody’s Summer Reading Club, those who read five books will receive a bleacher seat ticket and a food voucher for the Wausau Woodchucks game on Monday, Aug. 5.
Those who complete TPL’s Summer Reading Challenges will receive a Kwik Trip coupon, good for a salad or a slice of pizza, along with being entered into a prize drawing.
All outdoor programs will be moved indoors in the event of inclement weather.
