For the Tomahawk Leader
TOMAHAWK – Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) Tomahawk Mill has awarded 2024 Tomahawk High School (THS) graduate Patrick Samundsen a full-ride scholarship to the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).
Samundsen will major in electrical engineering.
To be awarded the scholarship, Samundsen completed the required application and submitted an essay on how the pulp and paper industry has impacted his life and why he should be chosen. He also interviewed and went on a mill tour.
To maintain the scholarship, a 3.0 GPA is required.
Samundsen will also work at the Tomahawk Mill as a summer student and will have the opportunity to complete a co-op/internship during his college career.
Future Tomahawk and Merrill High School students that are going to college for a degree in civil, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering can apply for the scholarship program in the fall. Those interested are encouraged to speak to a guidance counselor regarding the opportunity.
PCA said it is proud to support local students through the scholarship program.
“Congratulations, Patrick, on this great accomplishment,” PCA stated.
