Douglas J. Marheine

Douglas J. Marheine, age 78, of Tripoli, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Tomahawk, under the care of Compassus Northern Wisconsin Hospice. Doug was born in Tomahawk on March 2, 1946, to the late Anton and Adeline (Winters) Marheine. He was married to Debra Lass on June 1, 1974; Debra passed away on Aug. 15, 2021.

Doug was a 1964 graduate of the Tripoli High School. After high school, he entered the National Guard. Doug had a long tenure at the Tomahawk Mill, beginning employment in 1970 and retiring in 2010. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Doug was active in his community where he served on the Tripoli Fire Department and was chairman for the Town of Somo. He enjoyed being grandpa to his granddaughters, Viana and Taya.

Survivors include his son, Jamie Marheine, of Phillips, Wis.; his daughter, Tracie (Terry) Johnson, of Ogema, Wis.; his brothers, Anton Marheine, of Texas, and Phillip (Jackie) Marheine, of Merrill, Wis.; his sisters, Beverly Hartmann, of Prentice, Wis., Cathy Kivela, of Fond du Lac, Wis., Dawn Kropla, of Edmond, Okla., and Joan Potts, of Tomahawk. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Viana (fiancé Hunter) Johnson and Taya Johnson.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Adeline; his wife, Debra; and his sister, Sharon Spinney.

Memorial services for Douglas Marheine will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
