Byron Kenneth Bluse

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away on the morning of Nov. 28, 2023 in St. Paul, Minn. Following a Thanksgiving celebration and beautiful holiday weekend surrounded by loved ones, he was ready to pass the baton and join our Lord in heaven.

Byron was born to Charles and Georgianna (Rostallon) Bluse on April 10, 1933 in Saxon, Wis. He lived his 90 years well, loved his family deeply, continued to expand his knowledge and share his wisdom, was always willing to take on a task or lend a hand, enjoyed landscaping and sports, was a woodworker and outdoorsman, served his community and the Catholic Church, and became a role model as he adapted to the challenges brought on by blindness and decline his final years.

Byron was a humble, hardworking, family man. His diverse career included: sailing the Great Lakes, iron ore miner (Michigan), U.S. Army serviceman, manufacturer for Boeing (Wisconsin), regional manager for Crown Oil (Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan), and maintenance supervisor at Dayco Manufacturing (Arizona), where he retired. Byron continued working in landscaping until he returned to the Midwest in his Golden Years to enjoy his family.

Byron is survived by his wife of 65 years, Georgianna (Thoen) Bluse, Roseville, Minn.; children Tracie (Jeffrey) Ward, Charles (Rebecca) Bluse, and Kenneth Scott (Sali) Bluse; grandchildren Zachary (fiancée Katherine) Ward, Brett (Camilla) Ward, Kyli (Isaac) Addie, and Jordan Bluse; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his eldest son Edward Alan Bluse; his parents; Damgard siblings Mary Huestis, Walter, and Arthur; and Bluse siblings Russell, Leonard, Clayton, Edward, Noel, Anna Mae Alonen, and Catherine Savera.

Byron will be greatly missed, but our family is blessed to hold so many wonderful memories in our hearts, where he will live forever. A Celebration of Life and Mass at St. Ann’s in Saxon, Wis., at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024 followed by a luncheon at the community center.
