Morrison receives YMCA Teen Character Award

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk High School (THS) student Jerome Trey Morrison recently received a 2024 YMCA Teen Character Award.

Morrison was one of 33 winners from Lincoln, Forest, Langlade and Oneida Counties.

Nominees were judged on community service, academics, volunteering, active participation in a variety of activities and a wholesome lifestyle.

Theresa L’Esperance said she nominated Morrison “because of his positive outlook on life.”

“Trey has involved himself not only in sports, but drama, trap shooting, forensics and Boy Scouts,” L’Esperance stated, adding that Morrison will be completing his Eagle Scout Award this summer.

“It has been an honor to coach Trey in swimming, but also to see him grow into a well-rounded young man,” L’Esperance said. “THS has a student to be proud of.”
