RHINELANDER – The Nicolet College Foundation earlier this month announced that it has awarded 242 scholarships, totaling $240,000.00, for the 2024-2025 academic year.

A release from Nicolet said current students at the college are advised to check their student email for their award offers, noting that recipients are encouraged to review their offers promptly, as the deadline to accept is Monday, May 6.

Graduating high school seniors within the Nicolet College District will receive notifications at their high school scholarship ceremonies and will have until June 12 to accept their awards, according to the release.

Heather Schallock, Vice President of Community Engagement and Executive Director of the Nicolet College Foundation, emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to supporting students.

“Scholarships made available through the Nicolet College Foundation have supported countless students over the years,” Schallock stated. “Our goal is to continue providing opportunities for current and future students to achieve their academic and personal dreams.”

“My gratitude extends beyond just the financial aspect, but also for the community support,” said Nursing student and 2023-2024 Foundation Student Ambassador Lena Symonds.

Scholarship applications were accepted online in February and are made possible because of donor support, the release said, noting that many of the donations were received during “A Day for Nicolet,” the Foundation’s largest fundraising campaign of the year, held each fall.

Scholarships can be used for tuition and books, and any current or future Nicolet College student enrolled in at least three credits per term with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher is eligible to apply.

The next scholarship application period will be in September.
