Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: April 1, 2024

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, April 1:

On 03/30/2024 a deputy on patrol ran a vehicle registration and found the registered owner to not have a valid driver’s license. The deputy stopped the vehicle in the area of CTH Q and CTH K in the Town of Scott. When the deputy made contact with the driver, a Wausau woman, 20, she was found to be under the influence of intoxicants. The driver agreed to do sobriety tests, and as a result of those tests, she was placed under arrest for OWI, as well as operating without a license and under age alcohol consumption. The driver was later released to a responsible party.

On 03/31/2024 the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by the Price County Sheriff’s Office of a report of a domestic dispute while in a car traveling on STH 86. It was reported that the female party, a Brantwood woman, 36, was driving when her husband a Brantwood man, 36, grabbed her by the back of the neck and pushed her head down, causing pain, while she was driving the car. Immediately following the incident, the victim kicked her husband out of the car on the side of the road. The victim had injuries consistent with the alleged battery. The victim also reported that their four-year-old child was in the car when this took place. The deputy was unable to locate the male subject that night. Charges of two counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety as well as one count of battery will be requested against him.

On 03/31/2024 later in the afternoon, the Price County Sheriff’s Office reported that they had located the male subject who was involved in a domestic dispute in a vehicle a few hours earlier. Price County was looking for assistance in arresting the subject, as he was wanted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for domestic-related crimes. A deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office did respond and assisted with taking the subject into custody without incident. The subject was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 03/31/2024 the Sheriff’s Office was advised of a possible intoxicated pedestrian in the area of Hillside Dr. and Airport Rd. When the deputy arrived in the area he located a Merrill man, 29, walking in traffic. The deputy made contact with the subject and began questioning him. The deputy found that the subject was out on bond that required absolute sobriety. The deputy, who is a drug recognition expert, arrested the subject for being under the influence of a CHS stimulant, as well as possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. The subject was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail. The subject was also cited for pedestrian sudden movement into traffic.

 Deputies conducted 42 traffic stops and 45 security checks.

Deputies responded to two domestics and six car vs. deer crashes

The 911 Center took three hang-up calls and three nuisance calls.
