Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: March 25, 2024

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, March 25:

On 03/19/2024 deputies were alerted to a possible domestic situation on STH 17 north of CTH B. in the Town of Harrison. A Tomahawk woman, 25, reported that her boyfriend, 33, also from Tomahawk, was a passenger in her car before he forced her out of the vehicle and he took off N/B on STH 17 and an extremely high rate of speed. The woman also reported that the suspect had been using meth prior to this. A short time later, the Sheriff’s Office received a driving complaint on the suspect and that it was reported he was traveling over 100 MPH. The suspect subsequently lost control of the car and drove off the road, striking a tree. The force of the impact was enough that it caused the engine to separate from the car. The suspect was injured as a result of the crash. He was transported by ambulance to Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital, where he was stabilized and then flown by helicopter to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The suspect will be summonsed in for multiple charges, including OWI and several counts of bail jumping. The suspect by order of the court had been previously ordered not to have contact with the female.

On 03/20/2024 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle for suspended registration and the register owner being a revoked driver. When stopped, the Tomahawk man, 49, was found to be the registered owner, and he was also found to be on probation. The deputy contacted probation and parole, who placed a hold on the man. He was then arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

Deputies conducted 25 traffic stops and 40 security checks.

Deputies responded to one domestic and seven car vs. deer crashes.

The 911 Center took one hang-up call and two nuisance calls.
