School District of Tomahawk’s Allison Ewart receives Kohl Teacher Fellowship Award

TOMAHAWK – The School District of Tomahawk this week announced that Family and Consumer Education teacher Allison Ewart has been selected as a recipient of the Kohl Teacher Fellowship Award.

A Wednesday, March 20 release from the district said Ewart’s esteemed recognition highlights her “outstanding dedication, innovation and leadership in education.”

“The Kohl Teacher Fellowship Award, administered by the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation, is a highly competitive honor bestowed upon exceptional educators throughout Wisconsin,” the district stated. “Each year, the Foundation selects a select group of teachers who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and made a significant impact on their students, schools and communities.”

The district said Ewart’s “passion for teaching and her tireless efforts to empower her students have made her a shining example within the School District of Tomahawk.”

“Her innovative approach to Family and Consumer Education has not only enriched the academic experiences of her students, but has also equipped them with practical skills essential for success beyond the classroom,” the district stated.

“We are thrilled to see Allison Ewart receive this well-deserved recognition,” said District Administrator Wendell Quesinberry. “Her dedication to her students and her innovative teaching methods have left a lasting impression on our school community. This award is a testament to her hard work and commitment to excellence.”

The district said Ewart’s impact “extends far beyond the walls of her classroom,” noting that through her leadership of the Future Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), she has “fostered a culture of collaboration and engagement, inspiring students to become active participants in their own learning and agents of positive change in their communities.”

Ewart shared her gratitude upon receiving the Fellowship award.

“I am grateful to receive this outstanding award,” Ewart stated. “I am passionate about helping our Tomahawk students through multiple FCS classes and many other activities that I assist with. I strive to create interactive and innovative experiences for students to become Life, Learning and Career Ready.”

Tomahawk High School Principal Ryan Huseby commended Ewart’s achievement.

“Ms. Ewart is well deserving of this prestigious honor,” Huseby said. “The award represents her dedication and commitment to serving all students through Career and Technical Education. Her efforts create quality learning experiences for students to develop the skills and knowledge to graduate Career Ready and Life Ready. Ms. Ewart’s belief in innovation, excellence and hard work embodies the spirit of Tomahawk High School.”
