RHINELANDER – Nicolet College is inviting high school students and current 8th graders who will be entering high school this fall to enroll in this summer’s High School Culinary Boot Camp.

A release from Nicolet said the event will feature two days of culinary exploration at no charge.

The two-day boot camp will be held on the Nicolet College campus in Rhinelander on Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18.

“This immersive culinary boot camp is not only educational, but promises to be a fun-filled adventure for high school students,” Nicolet stated. “Designed to introduce participants to the diverse and rewarding world of culinary arts, the event is open to all, and no prior experience is required. “

“Whether students are passionate food enthusiasts or simply curious about exploring career options in the culinary field, this boot camp offers something for everyone,” said Nicolet Culinary Arts Instructor Vicki Mendham.

Through the event, participants will have the opportunity to gain insight into various career paths within the culinary industry, including chef and pastry chef; acquire essential knowledge and skills in food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring a healthy and hygienic culinary environment; discover the functionalities of different kitchen tools and equipment, and learn how to use them effectively to create culinary masterpieces; and get hands-on experience in preparing delectable dishes under the guidance of our experienced culinary instructors.

“Students not only make food, but they also have the opportunity to taste test,” Nicolet noted.

The Nicolet College High School Culinary Boot Camp is free of charge, but registration is limited to the first 20 students.
