BRANTWOOD – The Knox Creek Heritage Center (KCHC) will host its annual St. Urho’s and St. Patrick’s Day celebration next weekend.

KCHC was founded in 1995 and is “dedicated to preserving the heritage of the pioneers that settled these great Northwoods,” according to the organization.

The Heritage Center site, located at N4517 W. Knox Rd., Brantwood, features nine buildings and artifacts representing several ethnic groups in southeastern Price County. Antique logging, farming and blacksmith equipment, school and church memorabilia, photos, documents and more pieces of history dating back as far as the late 1800s are displayed at the Heritage Center.

The St. Urho and St. Patrick’s Day celebration, one of KCHC’s four yearly fundraisers, will be held at the Brantwood Community Center, located at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 8 and County Rd. D north, Brantwood, on Saturday, March 16, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

An international soup buffet, homemade Finnish bread, mint ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and beverages will be served, and bread will be available for purchase.

KCHC President Kevin Wollemann said KCHC will also host its annual meeting during the celebration. The election of officers and a review of KCHC’s financials and upcoming projects will take place.

Wollemann noted that the organization will also be soliciting volunteers and compiling a list of volunteers to help with some of the slated projects.

“We look forward to seeing you all to spend some time with good company,” Wollemann stated.
