Tomahawk Cub Scouts hold annual Pinewood Derby, Cake Bake Off

TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk’s Cub Scout Pack 548 held its annual Pinewood Derby races and Blue and Gold Cake Bake Off last month.

A total of 28 cars participated on Saturday, Feb. 24, including scouts, siblings and family members, and 19 scouts and siblings worked with male role models to bake and decorate cakes for the Bake Off.

The three fastest cars this year were made by Max Heier, Jonah Raith and Theo Heier, respectively.

Kid-voted car awards were presented to Ty Ahles (Best Paint Job), Theo Heier (Most Original), Nathan Schultz (Most Patriotic) and Knox Ahles (Best Scout Theme).

VFW Post 2687 representatives voted for Best in Show Car, which was awarded to Theo Heier.

Kid-voted cake awards were presented to Lukas Schultz (Best Scout Theme), Ty Ahles (Most Original), Luke Maule (Tallest), Nathan Schultz (Most Patriotic) and Theo Heier (Most Colorful).

VFW representatives also voted for Best in Show Cake, which was awarded to Rowan Calkins.

“Thanks to Tomahawk Elementary School for letting us hold our event, VFW for being our charter organization and being our special judges for the day and to all the parents and grandparents that made this such a special day for our scout families,” said Pack 548 Secretary Christina Schultz.
