Ila Mae Paulson

Ila Mae Paulson, a 96-year-old lifelong resident of Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024 at Milestone Assisted Living in Tomahawk surrounded by her family. 

Ila Mae was born Dec. 14, 1927 in Antigo to Edward and Cora Doucette. She married Roger Paulson on April 10, 1948 in Tomahawk. He passed away in 2012. Ila Mae graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1945. She had worked as a telephone operator, a seamstress at Nick & Sons Casket Factory, and was a bookkeeper at Bradley Bank for many years. In her quiet time she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and basket weaving. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family. 

Survivors include four children, Nancy (Joe Cordova) Teal, Diane (Jim) Timm, Bonnie (Joe) Trapp, all of Tomahawk, and Edward (Holly) Paulson of Florida. She is further survived by nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Don Paulson.

Ila Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; son, Bill Paulson; and three siblings, Neiland “Nocky” Doucette, Joe Doucette, and Virginia Uzzell. 

The Mass of Christian Burial was offered Saturday, Feb. 10, 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring. The family received friends at the Church Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass at 11 a.m.
