LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) last week announced that it will hold the first annual Lincoln County Summit next month.

The event will be held at the Bierman Building/Expo Center, 303 N. Sales St., Merrill, on Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15.

A release from LCEDC said the inaugural Lincoln County Summit, themed “Succession,” aims to bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and community stakeholders from across the region to discuss and strategize the future of economic growth and leadership transition within the county.

The summit will also seek to “address the critical importance of effective succession planning in all areas of life, ensuring the longevity and prosperity of local businesses, organizations and rural communities,” according to LCEDC.

“Through a series of presentations by area leaders, panel discussions and networking sessions, participants will explore innovative strategies for leadership transition, talent development and maintaining organizational resilience in times of change,” LCEDC stated.

Mark O’Connell, President and CEO of the Wisconsin Counties Association, will be the keynote speaker for the event.

“With his extensive experience and insightful perspectives on economic development and county leadership, Mr. O’Connell is expected to provide valuable contributions to the theme of succession and sustainable economic progress,” LCEDC said.

Elsa Duranceau, LCEDC Executive Director, said the summit “represents a significant opportunity for our community to come together and lay the groundwork for a future that embraces change with confidence.”

“We believe that focusing on succession planning is key to sustaining economic growth and building a strong foundation for the next generation of leaders in Lincoln County,” Duranceau stated.

LCEDC said the event will also feature various exhibitors, giving attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest tools, resources and services available to support their operations.

The event is supported by Active and Aware Citizens, the City of Merrill, the Merrill Area Development Corporation and the Tomahawk and Merrill Chambers of Commerce.

LCEDC said registration for the Lincoln County Summit will open soon.

“Attendees are encouraged to mark their calendars and prepare for two days of engaging discussions, valuable networking opportunities and actionable insights into the future of economic development in Lincoln County, Wis.,” LCEDC stated.
