TMS grapplers compete in Crandon scramble, D.C. Everest meet

CRANDON – The Tomahawk Middle School (TMS) wrestling team competed in a scramble in Crandon and a meet at D.C. Everest last week.

Crandon

The TMS wrestlers traveled to Crandon on Thursday, Feb. 1, to compete in an eight-team scramble.

Joining Tomahawk were Crandon, John Muir Blue, MHLT, Rhinelander, Wabeno/Laona, Three Lakes and Florence. No team scores were kept.

The following TMS wrestlers earned at least one victory last night: Dawson Jones, Hudson Evans, Colton McMeekin, Brayden Nowak, RJ Guzman, Vanessa Patterson, Aiden Cruz and Brantley Budzinski.

D.C. Everest

On Saturday, Feb. 3, the middle school grapplers headed to D.C. Everest to take part in the school’s annual team dual meet tournament. 

 D.C. Everest, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, John Muir, Horace Mann, Mosinee and P.J. Jacobs joined Tomahawk in the meet. The Hatchets placed 5th overall, going 2-2 as a team. 

TMS’s Dawson Jones went a perfect 4-0 on the day with three pins.

The following Hatchets came away with at least one victory on the day: Aiden Cruz, Hudson Evans, RJ Guzman, Charlee Lund, Colton McMeekin, Brayden Nowak and Tyler Waller.

This week’s action

The TMS wrestlers are slated to travel to Wisconsin Rapids for a conference scramble on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
