TMS grapplers compete in Marathon, Merrill

MARATHON – The Tomahawk Middle School (TMS) Hatchet wrestling team competed in Marathon and Merrill last week.

Marathon

The middle school grapplers traveled to Marathon on Monday, Jan. 22 to take part in a six-team scramble with Marathon, Merrill, Stratford, PJ Jacobs (Stevens Point) and Tri-County. No team scores were kept.

The following wrestlers came away with at least one victory last night: Hudson Evans, Colton McMeekin, RJ Guzman, Tyler Waller, Brayden Nowak, Vanessa Patterson, Brantley Budzynski and Dawson Jones.

Merrill

On Friday, Jan. 26, the TMS wrestlers took part in conference and scramble tournaments in Merrill.

 Winning matches, but not placing in the conference tournament, were Colton McMeekin and Dawson Jones.

In the scramble round robin tournament, winning matches and placing were: Vanessa Patterson, Brayden Nowak and Brantly Budzynski, second place; Charlee Lund, Lillian Taves, Noah Williamson and Tyler Waller, third place.

This week’s action

 The middle school Hatchets will travel to Crandon for a meet on Thursday, Feb. 1.
