Nicolet College Foundation to accept scholarship applications in February

For the Tomahawk Leader

RHINELANDER – The Nicolet College Foundation last week announced that it will accept scholarship applications through the month of February.

The Foundation is encouraging those planning to attend Nicolet College to apply.

Scholarships will be accepted online from Thursday, Feb. 1 through Thursday, Feb. 29.

Awarded scholarships will be available for use in the fall, spring and summer terms during the 2024-25 academic year.

Scholarship awards range from $250.00 to $5,000.00, and funding can help pay for tuition and books. Any current or future Nicolet College student who is enrolled or will be enrolled in at least three credits per term and has a cumulative grade point average of a 2.0 or higher is eligible to apply.

High school seniors who plan to attend Nicolet College in the fall are also encouraged to apply for scholarships.

“Scholarships made available through the Nicolet College Foundation have supported countless students over the years,” said Heather Schallock, Nicolet College Vice President of Community Engagement and Executive Director of the Nicolet College Foundation. “Our goal is to continue providing opportunities for current and future students to achieve their academic and personal dreams.”

Nicolet College liberal arts student Sarah Ryan expressed her gratitude upon receiving a scholarship from the Foundation and reflected on the value of that support.

“This scholarship is a pivotal support in realizing my dream career,” Ryan stated. “It’s not just about the financial assistance; it signifies the validation of my aspirations and the belief that my dreams are within reach.”

Lena Symonds, Nicolet College nursing student and 2023-24 Foundation Student Ambassador, echoed the impact of the support from the college and the Foundation.

“Nicolet has been vital to my path to become a nurse,” Symonds said. “My gratitude extends beyond just the financial aspect, but also for the community support of nursing students.”
